Very isolated so peace and quiet is pretty much guaranteed here, nearest shop (a Premier Convenience store) is about 5-6 miles away.
The lodge was clean in the general areas but full of cobwebs on hard to reach areas and in door frames etc, the oven was very old and the toaster was of poor quality (the type that doesn't accept the size of a normal slice of bread!).
Overall this lodge is very expensive for what is a glorified large shed.
It's also a bit cheeky to expect guests to pay for electric on top of what is already an expensive stay (£620 for a week in peak season with 1 dog).
it was disappointing that the on site pub didn't offer food, also didn't allow dogs which would harm their business as virtually every cabin had dogs staying with the owners.
There are some positives...
the site managers are very helpful and will do anything for you, the grounds are well maintained, There is a nice decking area outside with a picnic style bench to eat on (No BBQ's are allowed on site).
